Cali Turns 8. Even Though I Asked Her Not To.

I woke up to the world, as I know it, blanketed in new fallen snow.

I also woke up very disoriented.  I'd dreamt that I had missed a big deadline in one of my classes which left me feeling slightly stressed.  And I heard The Man getting ready for the day in our master bathroom which really threw me for a loop since he gets up after me.

So my morning started in a haze with me thinking that I was behind in my classes and late for getting up.

Luckily, from somewhere in the depths of  my mind I had enough thought process to look at my phone and see that I actually had 15 more minutes to sleep, and to remember that The Man had mentioned getting up early so he could shovel out his work site.

And our driveway, because he's wonderful like that.

Something nagged at me though.  I knew I wasn't behind in my classes so what was it about today...

Oh yeah.

My baby girl decided, despite my best efforts to stop her, to go ahead and have her birthday today.

Happy 8th birthday Cali-boo.

Turning 8 is a pretty big deal.

This girl is sassy to the core.
As in I'm going to do it my way and if you tell me otherwise I'm just going to shut down on you.

This girl is going places.

Her favorite color is pink.
Her favorite food is spaghetti and mac and cheese.
Her best friend is Annistyn.

Her favorite movie is Hotel Transylvania.
Her favorite song is You Don't Know You're Beautiful by One Direction.
She a solid directioner.

Cali wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
She loves watching Tinkerbell and Good Luck Charlie on Netflix.
She's into playing school with her big sisters and playing with her Barbies.

This girl is not shy.
If you cross her path she will claim you as an instant friend and talk your ear off.

I'm sorry for that.

Today, in between that thing called work, I'll be focusing on this energizer bunny and letting her know just how much I love that she's mine.
